Visible from the name itself, “manual therapy” is a treatment performed using hands.
For example, back problems, can be accurately identified, while certain facet joints can be specifically mobilized and treated. This form of treatment is also very effective with other treatments on other joints. Hip, knee and shoulder problems can also be successfully treated to reduce pain and improve function.

Manual therapy may be effective with the following indications:

Spine problems and spinal disc problems Neck problems and spinal problems in the entire neck region Inflammatory joint pain and numbness, e.g. of the hip, knees or back Facial pain, headaches and jaw pain Nerve irritation causing numbness or tingling in the fingers or along the n.ischiadicus Pain caused by ligament or meniscus problems Elbow problems such as tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow Wrist and forearm problems, such as bone fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome and sprains or strains Foot and ankle problems, such as ligament and tendon damage After surgeries or sports injuries

The first part of the therapy always starts with obtaining a detailed medical history related to the existing problem and how it affects daily activities. For the therapist, it is very important that the problem is explained from the perspective of the patient. Additional physical examination leads to the identification of the cause of the problem. For shoulder problems, neck, rib and thorax also have to be examined in order to determine the exact nature of the problem. Every patient is different, with different problems. Therefore, it is necessary to adapt the examination and testing to each patient individually. Interview and test results are the basis for the treatment that follows. Identified mobility problems will be treated with the most appropriate methods in manual therapy.

    ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is one of the oldest methods of treatment and a type of traditional Chinese, Indian and Tibetan medicine. It is used to alleviate various illnesses by bringing a vital energy called “qi” into balance. It employs sticking needles in certain points on the body.

Its effectiveness has been confirmed by numerous studies, and the World Health Organization officially accepted acupuncture as an efficient method for treatment of various diseases in 1979. While the vital energy flows through body meridians, a healthy balance of yin and yang is maintained. If energy in a certain meridian is blocked, bodily functions weaken and pain occurs, together with an onset of disorders and illnesses.

According to Chinese medicine, the surface of the skin contains certain spots connected to the meridians – channels through with life energy flows. By stimulating the acupuncture spots, bodily functions are improved, and thus begins the natural process of self-healing. Acupuncture positively affects the nervous, endocrine, immune, cardiovascular and digestive system. It helps alleviate various pain and allows you to feel good in your own body.

Acupuncture may be effective with the following indications:

Problems related to the musculoskeletal system (back, knee, neck etc. pain) Chronic back pain, which is a result of too much sitting, stress, poor sleep quality, injuries, stiff muscles etc. Rheumatoid arthritis Sciatica Arthritis Headaches and migraine Nausea and vomiting Anxiety and depression Insomnia Infertility Allergies Sinusitis High and low pressure Morning sickness Postoperative pain Stroke Sports injuries Neuralgia Skin diseases
